DIY Cocktail: Pomegranate Martini

Today...we're making a cocktail! Do you love the sweet taste of pomegranate? Do you enjoy the smoothness of a great martini?
Then I've got a recipe for you!

What you'll need:
1 cup pomegranate juice
2 shots of vodka
1 shot of pomegranate liquor
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
a few splashes of sparkling water {or sprite or ginger ale}
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice {or just a little squirt/squeeze}
ice

Place all ingredients except sparkling water in a cocktail shaker. Mix well. Add sparkling water and give shaker a quick twirl. {make sure to to just swish the shaker from side to side...if you put the top back on and shake vertically, the carbonation will force the top off and cause a mess...trust me} Serve in chilled martini glasses. Makes two martinis.

This cocktail has made appearances at bridal showers, parties, an evening at home and even at our wedding reception. It's light, refreshing, delicious...and always a hit with guests. You should absolutely try it out for your next get together or a quiet evening at home. I have a feeling you'll love it!
